Exhibition catalogues for Sharp are not available for the years 1902 through 1904. This work may be later than that, however, matching a title in a show at the Closson Galleries in Cincinnati, Pictures of the West, that included two Glacier area landscapes with teepees, Summer Camp in the Woods, Blackfoot Country (Record 526) and what may be this work, Spring Evening in Blackfoot Country.

A smaller, associated sketch taken later in the day and from a slightly different vantage point can be seen in related image 725.
