Sharp was proud of his Hawaiian paintings and so were his fellow New Mexicans. In the spring of 1931 the Museum of New Mexico hosted what they referred to as an especially "colorful show" that featured his latest Hawaiian Islands landscapes and flowers. (El Palacio, 6/3/31)

A clipping from the Cincinnati Enquirer, 12/26/1933, mentions a painting titled Koko Head in Moonlight which may be this work. (Sharp Papers) It was being exhibited at the Kreimer Gallery that fall.
